Provided the students complete the programme, they have access to a 3-5 day work placement in their area of career interest. Typically, their school/parental networks do not have the contacts to facilitate opportunities in the types of companies the students are desperate to access, this is another way in which AE makes a difference by leveraging its sponsors, contacts and supporters. The intention of this placement is for the student and a volunteer coach from the organisation to get to know each-other and see if they would like to build a coaching relationship over a 12 month period, where the coach helps the young person develop their 'Success Skills'.
PI was very lucky to offer one of AE's students, Eugina Pierre, a placement with PI's marketing team. During the week Eugina spent with PI, she not only demonstrated a level of professionalism rarely found in someone of her age but also produced exceptional work for the marketing team. Although sad to see Eugina leave, we were delighted to hear that in the months that followed her placement at PI, she had secured a trainee position at Commerzbank and is planning to go to University. We are now looking forward to meeting and working with AE's new recruits and hope that we can continue to effect some change.
"Our involvement with Arrival Education originally stemmed from a desire to be more involved in our wider community. However, our relationship has developed into something so much more than this and the effect that our involvement with Arrival Education has had on our company is tangible on many levels. Arrival Education's programme works from the ground up, really tackling the heart of the problems faced by an increasing number of London's youth and it provides a viable alternative to those involved with the programme. Not only providing invaluable benefits to the young adults Arrival Education works with, the programme is of huge value to us. Those that we have met through our relationship with Arrival Education have brought us, as individuals and as a company, so much - from fresh new ideas and innovative thinking to enthusiasm and passion."
